These are the islands first sighted by Captain Bligh on his epic voyage in the Bounty's longboat, the islands where ancient rock inscriptions have been found, and where twenty islands have a population of almost five thousand Fijian villagers living the traditional island life.
Yasawa Island are the idyllic and incredibly photogenic islands where the original "Blue Lagoon" films were photographed in the 1940's and 1980.
It takes just 35 minutes by aircraft from Nadi's airport to Yasawa Island Resort's own airstrip. There are spectacular views of the reefs, lagoons and islands of the Yasawa group along the way. Yasawa Island is the main island in the group, and is 22 km long and less than 1 km wide.
Yasawa Island Resort creates a special "someplace else" atmosphere.
Sixteen secluded one and two bedroom bures are nestled amidst lush gardens on the edge of a long sandy beach.

of white sandy beach in front of the resort.
Each bure has its own separate thatched beach hut, equipped with furniture and amenities.
Plus, there are 11 other unspoiled beaches around the island.
Excellent snorkeling spots can be found off the main beach that is protected by a barrier reef. A short walk through the rainforest behind the resort takes you to a 3km stretch of totally unspoiled beaches on the eastern side of the resort.
The Yasawa Island Resort kitchen can prepare a picnic lunch for you to
take to your own private beach for a romantic interlude together.
The resort offers numerous activities such as windsurfing, sailing on a catamaran, tennis, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving or my favorite, a village trip.
You can also visit the sawa- I-Lau caves, the setting for scenes in two of the "Blue Lagoon" movies.
At Yasawa Island Resort recreational facilities are complimentary with the exception of scuba diving, game fishing and massage.
So go experience Yasawa Island Resort and be one of the few privileged guests. Enjoy this very private and unspoiled romantic getaway.
The resort is "almost-inclusive" including meals and all non-alcoholic beverages.
Each day Yasawa Island Resort's chef prepares contemporary food with an emphasis on the succulent seafood caught nearby. Lobster is a specialty.
Yasawa Island Resort boasts one of the best wine cellars in the Fiji Islands.
